My name is Hiral. I am 23 years old. At the age of 21, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
I was working in a nursery when I was diagnosed with Leukaemia. I was extremely devastated as I had worked so hard to become a room leader and because of my diagnosis, I wasn’t able to continue.
I had to start my treatment and let go of work.
The biggest struggles I've had with cancer is staying strong and continuing each day, trying to stay positive. I struggle knowing that my life will never be the same ever again, and the biggest struggle is the thought of dying which constantly plays on my mind.
I’m on maintenance treatment now which is part of my treatment until November 2020.
Teens Unite has played a vital role in my journey and without them I’d be really lost. When I was at my lowest and almost didn't make it, Teens Unite were there every step of the way and they still are today.
All the staff are very caring and supportive and go above and beyond to make sure I have everything I need or want to do. Who knew it was going to be Teens Unite that would make my dream of designing t-shirts come true following the annual activity stay the charity organises each summer. The stay is full of different workshops and activities and one of the days is an 'Apprentice Challenge'. We worked in teams, alongside business mentors, to create a new t-shirt design that would raise funds and awareness for Teens Unite, looking at how we would design, market and sell the product. It was amazing.
They’re always organising events in order for us to socialise and fill our journeys with positive memories, laughter and most importantly making us feel like humans again.
Teens Unite has unlocked a new sense of confidence. They always believe in me, especially as I embark on my new chapter of life where I'll be studying nursing at university.
Detailed below are our events for Teens, Volunteers, Fundraising and Challenges.

With Teens Unite, I finally realised that I could climb out of this massive hole that I had been digging because I wasn't alone anymore.
If it wasn't for Teens Unite, I wouldn't be where I am now. They have been really supportive and given me the strength to push myself and not give up.
Volunteering with Teens Unite has changed my personality and outlook on life. When I hear all the amazing things the teens say about Teens Unite, I can tell they mean every word.
Teens Unite isn't just a charity to me, it was the beginning of restarting my life.
When Elliot started receiving the support of Teens Unite, I could see a change in him straightaway. His outlook on life was becoming positive again and I gained strength from seeing my little boy accepting what had happened and starting to move forward.
